Riding Irish-bred Goathland, apprentice jockey Jack Martin flew home on Saturday 10 December to secure the Vaughan Constructions Handicap.
Martin’s debut for Macedon Lodge in Race 5 at Flemington was sheer perfection.
Sitting comfortably in third before gaining a split, Jack raced away to lock in a 4-1/4 length win from favourite Charlevoix.
Riding for the renowned Lloyd and Nick Williams, Martin entered the history books in his opener at Flemington.
Currently completing the new elevated staff parking facilities at Sunshine Hospital, Vaughan Constructions were proud to partner with Western Health to sponsor their Community Raceday.
Our congratulations to Jack Martin for his stand out ride and to Lloyd Williams and the winning connections on a magnificent result.
