Vaughan Constructions is delivering a 7,140m² facility on behalf of Aliro Group, ISPT, TMX Global and Direct Property Connect in the PortLink Industrial Estate at Altona North, Victoria.
The new project is the Circular Plastics Australia (PET) plastic recycling facility for Pact Group Holdings Ltd, Cleanaway Waste Management, Asahi Beverages and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) who have jointly collaborated to build and operate the venture.
This innovative facility will have the capacity to recycle the equivalent of up to 1 billion 600ml PET beverage bottles a year from kerbside municipal collections, commercial and industrial customers and container deposit schemes and transform them into high-quality food-grade PET resin.
Upon completion, the facility will be one of the largest of its kind in Victoria and is the second large-scale PET recycling plant built by the CPA joint venture partners.
The project is being supported by the Recycling Victoria – Recycling Modernisation Fund. The Fund is delivered by under the ’s Recycling Modernisation Fund and the Victorian Government’s circular economy plan, Recycling Victoria: a new economy.
The facility is designed to achieve a 5 Star Green Star Rating and is inclusive of 6,520m² of warehouse space, 600m² of office area and amenities and 9,770m² of concrete hardstand.
